Our fundraising and grant-making success is the result of thousands of simple
gestures of generosity and concern that come together as one extraordinary show
of support for people with HIV/AIDS and their families. Tax-deductible donations
are an important source of funding for Classical Action, and through special appeals,
we continue to expand this funding base. By making a contribution to Classical
Action and showing your support of the performing arts community’s response to
the AIDS epidemic, you allow us to enrich the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS
within the entertainment community and nationwide. Funds
raised by Classical Action are distributed two ways. First, through Broadway Cares/Equity
Fights AIDS’s National Grants Program, we are able to provide millions of dollars
each year to more than 500 AIDS service organizations nationwide through a bi-annual
application process. Supported programs include those providing food, housing,
transportation, emergency financial aid, and emotional/practical support systems.
Secondly, Classical Action/BCEFA has an ongoing commitment to grant significant
funds to several programs of The Actors’ Fund of America, which assists entertainment
industry professionals (such as directors, dancers, ushers, actors, musicians,
lighting designers, etc.) living with HIV/AIDS and other catastrophic illnesses.
Supported programs include the AIDS Initiative, the Phyllis Newman Women’s Health
Initiative, supportive housing projects, and the Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic.
Please
consider offering your financial support the efforts of Classical Action. Each
and every donation is vital to our work on behalf of those living with HIV/AIDS.
